Hey, I’m Danny Azzopardi. I used to be a lawyer and banker, but I ditched the ties and bullshit to build startups that sometimes work. For the last 10 years, I’ve been grinding through London, Berlin, and Hong Kong, wrestling foodtech, energy, edtech, and ecommerce into mildly workable enterprises.
Day-to-day, I’m the guy who turns chaos into cash and big ideas into things people actually use. I’ve driven a pre-revenue energy startup in London to Series A, cracked open Hong Kong for a German ecommerce gig, and ran a ghost kitchen biz in Berlin from sale to scale-up to exit — twice, actually. Six businesses total, from zero to €50m GMV, and I’ve got the scars to prove it. I’m the jack-of-all-trades type — sales, ops, product, finance, HR, legal — give me a problem, and I’ll smash it while everyone else is still arguing over the deck. Am currently chewing on my very first own venture, Rendezvous, which I hope to share more about in future articles.
Outside the grind, I’m all over the place — travelling, hoarding wine (then drinking it), eating my weight in food, geeking out on classic films, music, tennis, yoga, chess, and whatever book’s closest. I’m hooked on politics, philosophy, health, and figuring out what makes life worth living. I’ll never master any of it, but that’s fine — I’m built for the mess.
This site’s my dumping ground for thoughts on career, growth, tech, and whatever else I’m chewing on. Might drop some random shit I’ve picked up along the way. Stick around if you’re into it.
Cheers, Danny
